Chose The Right Photo & Video Wedding Package
You've taken the first step and chosen your favourite photographer and videographer for your wedding day. But now, you're faced with the challenge of choosing the perfect package, and determining how many hours of coverage you'll need. We know this can be overwhelming, especially if you're not entirely sure about how a wedding day timeline might look like. As professional wedding photographers and videographers, we understand that this may not be an obvious answer for you. After all, planning a wedding is not something you do every day. That's why we're here to break it down for you in a casual and easy-to-understand way. In this post, we'll discuss how to determine how many hours of coverage you need to ensure that all of your most important moments are captured.
1) Consider What Moments You Absolutely Want to Capture
Before deciding on the number of hours of coverage you need, think about what moments you absolutely want to capture. Do you want to relive every moment from getting ready until the last dance? If so, we recommend full-day coverage of 10-12 hours. However, other factors also come into play, so keep reading.
2) Check the Locations
Is the getting ready, ceremony, reception, and photo location all in one place? If so, 6-8 hours of coverage may suffice. If not, you'll need to factor in driving time and allow extra time for each location. In this case, 10 hours would be more ideal.
3) Consider Your Guest Count and Activities
How many guests will be attending? How long do you want to allow for group and family photos? Do you have a large bridal party? Do you want plenty of time for bridal party portraits and couple portraits? How many speeches do you have planned? If you have a large guest list, a big family with a lot to say, and you're excited about capturing that perfect sunset portrait, we recommend opting for 10 - 12 hours of coverage.
4) Plan For Special Exit
If have a special exit planned, such as the sparkler exit, then you'll need your photographer and videographer to stay until the very end of the reception. And if you also want to capture getting ready shots, a full day coverage of 10 - 12 hours would be ideal.
5) Second Photographers or Videographers
if you're considering adding a second photographer or videographer to your package, this can help shorten the number of hours of coverage since that second person can take on some of the work.
